Beginning a trend of weekly metaphor-solving, we would like to know what you think this metaphor, written by Paul Eluard (seen photographed below), means: "La terre est bleue comme une orange."
(translation: "The earth is blue like an orange.)
L'EXPLIQUEZ.

While from space the earth appears blue, and furthermore, exhibits similar traits to the orange, categorizing it in either facet would be a gross misuse of broad brush strokes. Rather, the world, in this particular author's eyes, is a complex organism of distinct, yet interdependent interactions that cannot be condensed into a simple metaphor.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I think its a sweet quote.
