Metaphors.

Beginning a trend of weekly metaphor-solving, we would like to know what you think this metaphor, written by Paul Eluard (seen photographed below), means: "La terre est bleue comme une orange."
(translation: "The earth is blue like an orange.)

L'EXPLIQUEZ.

  1. While from space the earth appears blue, and furthermore, exhibits similar traits to the orange, categorizing it in either facet would be a gross misuse of broad brush strokes. Rather, the world, in this particular author's eyes, is a complex organism of distinct, yet interdependent interactions that cannot be condensed into a simple metaphor.

Personally, I think its a sweet quote.
